The introduction of new professional figures has always been a very discussed issue in the evolution of the Labour Market. To be defined as new, a job figure has to be easily detectable by behaviours and attitudes. In particular, this study focuses on the manager’s professional work and its declination in the figure of the Open Manager. Using some evidences from a questionnaire conducted by interviewing a set of managers of Italian companies using a structured survey, this figure emerged in several profiles through the use of finite mixture regression models. Specifically, three typologies of Open Manager have been identified on the basis of the answers to the questionnaire items and on their self-declared level of openness.

Abstract
The introduction of new professional figures has always been a very discussed issue in the evolution of the Labour Market. To be defined as new, a job figure has to be easily detectable by behaviours and attitudes. In particular, this study focuses on the manager’s professional work and its declination in the figure of the Open Manager. Using some evidences from a questionnaire conducted by interviewing a set of managers of Italian companies using a structured survey, this figure emerged in several profiles through the use of finite mixture regression models. Specifically, three typologies of Open Manager have been identified on the basis of the answers to the questionnaire items and on their self-declared level of openness.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
