Abstract
Following the insight of Prof. Marco Martini (Martini, 2000), the Progetto AMeRIcA, Anagrafe Milanesi e Redditi Individuali con Archivi, was set up in 1999 to cover an informative deficit concerning the incomes of individuals and families in the Milanese area. The Statistical Department of the Milanese local government, partner and financial backer of the project, and the Department of Statistics of Milano-Bicocca now have the task of developing the project. The totally innovative idea intends to integrate data from the registry office with income tax information from the fiscal regis ters filed at the Milanese Revenue Office. Thereby, this data integration project, which is the first in Italy, can provide continuing information and a high quality of the statistical data attainable. Thanks to the development of activity within the group ‘work market’ and the quality of its collaborative relations Inps, mail and the Observatory of the work market of the Provincia di Milano have been successively involved in the project. They consented to transfer the information held in their data banks to be integrated within the project database. Therefore, the numerous streams of information concerning the various aspects of resi dents and their families (work, income, social security, etc.) have been integrated into one data warehouse permitting a deeper analysis of the Milanese reality and a finer analysis of the Milanese work market. As a result, projects within local government as far as social and work policies are con cerned have been facilitated and significantly bettered.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
