Geomorphological maps are a fundamental tool for understanding and managing the territories. However, the diversity of the used guidelines by official institutions can hinder the sharing and integrated use of information. This contribution compares the landforms classification and their morphogenetic systems adopted by the Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (IGME) and the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), highlighting convergences and divergences. The work aligned with the INSPIRE directives, providing valuable insights for enhancing the harmonisation, enlargement, and interoperability of geomorphological data at the European level.
