The aim of the research GENdERAcTION - Deconstructing Stereotypes and Countering Homophobia and Gender Discrimination, conducted by the Department of Sociology at the University of Milano Bicocca, was to shed light on the ways in which gender relations are constructed and negotiated - both in the public and private spheres. The study showed that boys do not talk to adults except in routine situations within boundaries drawn by the pivotal institutions of social life (school, family, work).
