We here present a short summery based upon an ongoing collaboration between six researchers (three from Italy, two from Norway, one from UK). Six members of ESREA come together to share specific stories about individuals whose life events have resulted in a loss of dignity to see what, as adults, we can learn from each other and how this learning might be transformative for our daily lives. Working collaboratively enables us to focus on both stories and more analytically at what constitutes and represents dignity and how ‘others’ (often ourselves), witnessing the descent from light into dark, may be able to intervene in small ways to ameliorate or at least to slow the process down, focusing especially on offering touch and the chance to be in-touch with another human and develop a trusting relationship whether within or beyond the family.

Abstract
We here present a short summery based upon an ongoing collaboration between six researchers (three from Italy, two from Norway, one from UK). Six members of ESREA come together to share specific stories about individuals whose life events have resulted in a loss of dignity to see what, as adults, we can learn from each other and how this learning might be transformative for our daily lives. Working collaboratively enables us to focus on both stories and more analytically at what constitutes and represents dignity and how ‘others’ (often ourselves), witnessing the descent from light into dark, may be able to intervene in small ways to ameliorate or at least to slow the process down, focusing especially on offering touch and the chance to be in-touch with another human and develop a trusting relationship whether within or beyond the family.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
