The chapter presents an overview about the changes in the Italian welfare system structure and analyzes especially the role of social work as it can be redesigned by the law 328/2000 concerning the new frame of integrated system of social work interventions and social services. New perspectives and new requirements to cope with the new scenarios are suggested.
