A thermo-luminescence (TSL) glow peak at 285 K in LuAG:Ce3+ was correlated with the presence of a very slow components in the scintillation decay, and a comparison with YAP:Ce3+ from the same producer was performed. The importance of understanding the nature of such TSL active trapping states and their removal for further optimization of LuAG:Ce3+ scintillator was emphasized.
