Gli assegni di accompagnamento nel contesto delle politiche per gli anziani non autosufficienti

In Italy there is not a specific care-benefit for the not self-sufficient elderly. There are several different economical allowances, instead, supplied by INPS ( National retirement account) to those people with limited autonomy. Among these allowances, a key role belongs to the so-called “accompaniment benefit”, supplied to 100% disabled people, around 450€ per month: nowadays there are over 1.220 thousands accompaniment benefits allotted, almost 880 thousands to people over 65 years old. This paper has three different goals: 1) user profiling, starting from INPS database; 2) seizing the nexus between these benefits and the change underway regarding poverty and elderly people; 3) outlining the limits of this allowance compared to the need of an effective supply to not self-sufficient people and of an overall reorganization of Welfare state in Italy.
