The article focuses on the specificity of female migration in Italy. Women move along the traditional lines north-south and east-west with projects depending on the country of origin and cultural contexts. Even in Italy is undergoing a significant increase in the presence of foreign women caused by a complex set of driving factors ranging from the desire to escape from traditional roles or from emergency contexts. The main reasons are however to support their family, or work for family of countries of destination.
