Sixteen patients (age between 7-16 years old) with disruptive behavior disorder were treated with risperidone. A 6 months follow up was performed. We analyzed the treatment efficacy and the incidence of the principal and most frequent side effects: the hyperprolactinemia (observed in 15 patients, all asymptomatic, with normaliza- tion of prolactin levels after 6 months in roughly half of the cases) and the body weight increase(observed in 10 cases, with a mean increment of 4.8 kg). The treatment was effective in 14 over the 16 cases enrolled.
