checklist of the fishes belonging to the family Pseudochromidae is presented. The list includes 195 nominal species, of which 156 are valid. The species are grouped into 24 genera and 6 subfamilies. About 45% of the species belong to the genus Pseudochromis. Labracinus cyclophthalmus (Müller and Troschel, 1849) is here formally treated as nomen protectum.
