Wild pollinator populations are declining across Europe, threatening agricultural productivity and food security. To support effective policy responses, we need clear evidence of where crops depend most on wild pollinators and where pollinator populations are most at risk. We present the Pollination Alert Map, an interactive tool developed within the EU Horizon Europe project "Butterfly" that bridges this critical knowledge gap by mapping the alignment between pollination “demand” and supply across European regions. We estimated pollination “demand” using the field-level agricultural data from the Harmonized IACS inventory and calculating the proportion of land occupied by each pollination dependent crop in each NUTS (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) region. For the pollination “supply”, we are experimenting ways to integrate habitat suitability values estimated by SDMs, phenology and pollination effectiveness for different pollinator species to achieve a multi-dimensional assessment of actual pollination service capacity in each region. We will present a live demonstration of the Pollination Alert Map, an interactive web application built in R using the Shiny framework, and discuss the data pipelines and validation approaches underlying its development. The tool is designed to empower agricultural policymakers, land managers, and crop producers with actionable intelligence on their region's pollination vulnerabilities and dependencies. This presentation interrogates all ecologist on the role scientist may take not only to study biodiversity but to help people act.
