Museo Diffuso Bicocca: spazio di connessione, esplorazione, confronto e conoscenza Bicocca Diffused Museum: a space for connection, exploration, discussion and knowledge

The University of Milan-Bicocca is a young university founded in 1998. Its initial con- struction project did not include a museum, which is common to almost all universities with a long tradition, spaces established for teaching and research purposes. Over time, however, the need to establish a museum matured, although the choice was not to have a fixed location, but to identify spaces in all departments, as well as to activate temporary projects. The project presented here aims to recount the journey undertaken since the establishment of the Bicocca Diffused Museum (MuDiB) in 2023, born from the desire to enhance the tangible and intangible heritage of the various departments and to connect them both with each other and with the territory in which the university itself is located. MuDiB has thus become a tool with a communicative and educational function, which has had to consider what Bicocca’s historical and contemporary heritage is and how to in- volve the university and city communities. This contribution will focus on the actions carried out over the last two years and on future prospects linked to an increasingly exten- sive participatory process.

L’Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca è una giovane università nata nel 1998. Nel suo progetto costruttivo iniziale non era previsto un museo, specifico di quasi tutte le realtà universitarie con una lunga tradizione, spazi istituiti con finalità didattiche e di ri- cerca. Nel tempo però l’esigenza di costituire un museo è maturata, anche se la scelta non è stata quella di avere un luogo definito e stabile, ma di individuare alcuni spazi in tutti i dipartimenti, oltre che di attivare progetti temporanei. Il progetto qui presentato, vuole raccontare il percorso realizzato a partire dall’istituzione del Museo Diffuso Bicocca (MuDiB) nel 2023, nato dalla volontà di valorizzare i patrimoni materiali e immateriali dei vari dipartimenti e di porli in connessione sia tra loro, sia con il territorio in cui è col- locata la stessa università. Il MuDiB è divenuto così un dispositivo con una funzione co- municativa e pedagogica, che ha dovuto interrogarsi su quale fosse il patrimonio storico e contemporaneo di Bicocca, quali le modalità di coinvolgimento della comunità universi- taria e cittadina. Nel contributo qui presentato si porrà attenzione alle azioni realizzate in questi due anni, alle prospettive future, legate a un processo partecipativo sempre più esteso.
