We introduce location and dispersion measures for frequency distributions defined over posets. The proposed methodologies rely either on the reconstruction of a poset through the intersection of suitably chosen linear extensions, or on its partition into disjoint “adjacent” antichains. These two approaches naturally lead to distinct definitions of quantiles and dispersion measures in the poset setting.
