Statistics for Communication

In contemporary data-driven societies, the effective communication of data and statistics is essential for informed decision-making and democratic participation. The challenges of conveying quantitative information to non-specialist audiences are addressed, highlighting the risks of misinformation, disinformation, and misuse of statistics and discussing the roles of statistical literacy, data quality, and responsible communication. Attention is given to the impact of artificial intelligence on the production and dissemination of statistical information, and to the shared responsibility of statisticians, journalists, and institutions in ensuring transparent and trustworthy communication of data and statistics.
