Night mobilities present unique challenges and opportunities for urban policies aimed at enhancing sustainability, safety, and inclusiveness. Within the MUSA (Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action) project, funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU initiative, we conducted an in-depth study of nocturnal mobility patterns in the Milano-Bicocca neighborhood. This paper focuses on mobility flows, walkability, and safety perceptions, offering insights for the creation of sustainable nighttime environments. By analyzing movement data and conducting focus groups, the study identifies critical pathways, evaluates walkability, and explores strategies to mitigate safety concerns. The findings provide valuable guidelines for policymakers to foster sustainable, vibrant, and safe urban nights.
