L’accertata violazione sistematica dell’art. 9 CEDU da parte della Russia. Il caso dei Testimoni di Geova

This paper examines the systematic violation of Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) by the Russian Federation, with particular attention to the case of Jehovah’s Witnesses, starting from the legal and political implications of Russia’s expulsion from the European Convention on Human Rights following its armed aggression against Ukraine. Central to the analysis is the leading case Taganrog LRO and Others v. Russia, which highlights recent Strasbourg case law concerning the persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The study concludes by reflecting on the broader consequences of Russia’s disengagement from the European human rights system.
