The “Place-Based Education for Ocean Literacy” project engaged university students in the creation of short films that explored their personal relationship with the marine environment and aimed to narrate the sea for younger audiences. Through narrative practices, creative audiovisual methods, and participatory evaluation processes, students investigated the “sea of the heart”: an emotional geography grounded in personal memories, imagination, and direct experience with the place being represented. These short films are the result of a combination of fieldwork and digital technologies, which together expand the ways in which territorial narratives can be constructed and communicated.

Abstract
The “Place-Based Education for Ocean Literacy” project engaged university students in the creation of short films that explored their personal relationship with the marine environment and aimed to narrate the sea for younger audiences. Through narrative practices, creative audiovisual methods, and participatory evaluation processes, students investigated the “sea of the heart”: an emotional geography grounded in personal memories, imagination, and direct experience with the place being represented. These short films are the result of a combination of fieldwork and digital technologies, which together expand the ways in which territorial narratives can be constructed and communicated.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
