Abstract
Notwithstanding the modern institutional system where globalization seems to "shrink" the world, wiping off time and space and replacing "places" of social interaction with "non-places" of indifference, in this text the author aims to stress the importnace of the complex cultural and artistic interconnections that can now link artists from all over the world: "On the one hand, art is sensitive to places, but on the other hand it is also true that those places are themeselves modified by the artistic act". As a model of this new way of conceiving art exposition, the author, in his interview with the Cameroonese artist Barthélémy Toguo, focuses on the activities of the cultural centre Bandjoun Station, located in Toguo's homeland. The aim is not to create an art centre on the European model, but rather a place where everybody can express themeselves without cultural and territorial restrictionsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
