Gender, sex, and relationship diversity (GSRD) therapy is an inclusive approach to therapy that questions hegemonic views on identity and mental well-being while exploring new perspectives on gender diversity and relationships using post-modern frameworks to support individuals who do not conform to typical gender identity standards or relationships. The therapy mainly targets individuals with a variety of gender and sexual orientation identities outside the mainstream dominant conventionalities of binary gender and hetero-monogamy. Its principles can be applied to everyone as it acknowledges that societal norms can impact mental health for all individuals. GSRD therapy promotes adaptability and inclusivity at its essence by taking on an approach that can blend seamlessly with therapeutic frameworks to tailor sessions toward meeting the distinct needs of GSRD individuals. The open and all-encompassing nature of GSRD therapy sets it apart from methods that could inadvertently perpetuate fixed notions of identity while invalidating those who deviate from the norm. This chapter delves into the fundamentals of GSRD therapy, its underlying principles, and its goals of challenging normativity while respecting the individuals’ freedom and consent.

Abstract
This chapter delves into the fundamentals of GSRD therapy, its underlying principles, and its goals of challenging normativity while respecting the individuals’ freedom and consent.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
