A high-power, lumped-elements, interdigital bandpass filter is described which has been used to improve the isolation between decouple and observe channels of NMR spectrometers, and to "clean" the transmitter signals. With no calculations, and with the help of a sweeper or a spectrum analyzer, filters of this type can be easily assembled and tuned over the 90-400 MHz range, typical of the proton decoupling frequencies.

Abstract

A high-power, lumped-elements, interdigital bandpass filter is described which has been used to improve the isolation between decouple and observe channels of NMR spectrometers, and to "clean" the transmitter signals. With no calculations, and with the help of a sweeper or a spectrum analyzer, filters of this type can be easily assembled and tuned over the 90-400 MHz range, typical of the proton decoupling frequencies.
