This article aims to ascertain whether the EPPO, whose mission is to protect the financial interests of the Union, can be included among the entities that contribute to protecting common values, and especially compliance with the rule of llaw. In this context, the article analyses in particular the interactions between the European Commission, the EPPO and the Member States – both those that have adhered to the reinforced cooperation establishing the EPPO and those that have chosen not to participate – as well as certain candidate countries for EU membership.
