We have recently introduced the logratio Student t distribution, a multivariate density function on the simplex that extends the logratio normal distribution. Thanks to its properties, this model provides a better fit for compositional data exhibiting greater variability than expected under the normal assumption. For this reason, it can be effectively employed in diagnostic data analysis, particularly for identifying deviations from standard compositional patterns.

Abstract
