This contribution delves into the relationship between migration and health in the Italian context. We explore how the Italian statistical system has either effectively tackled or overlooked the evolving composition of the immigrant population particularly in addressing their healthcare needs. Our aim is to highlight the principal transformations within the foreign population, shed light on the inadequacies of the statistical system in capturing these changes, and pinpoint specific areas of interest that are currently overlooked in the research arena. We conclude with recommendations for future research in this field.

Abstract
This contribution delves into the relationship between migration and health in the Italian context. We explore how the Italian statistical system has either effectively tackled or overlooked the evolving composition of the immigrant population particularly in addressing their healthcare needs. Our aim is to highlight the principal transformations within the foreign population, shed light on the inadequacies of the statistical system in capturing these changes, and pinpoint specific areas of interest that are currently overlooked in the research arena. We conclude with recommendations for future research in this field.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
