The transposition of the directive 2002/49/CE into the Italian legislation, in force from the 8th October 2005, requires many adaptations, among which there is the need to define procedures for converting the day- and night-time LAeq values determined according the current Italian legislation into Lden and Lnight. This aspect is analysed by a working group established by the Italian Standardization Body (UNI) dealing with strategic noise mapping. The Lden and Lnight differ from the current noise descriptors because of reference time (annual basis and addition of the evening), of incident sound (instead of overall sound including the facade reflection), of height above ground and of meteorological conditions (to be representative of a year at the measurement site instead of conditions within a fixed range of wind speed). The paper describes the procedures designed for urban and not urban road traffic noise, taking into account the evening period established in Italy (20-22) and that proposed by the European Commission in order to determine differences between the two temporal scenarios

Abstract
The paper describes the procedures designed for urban and not urban road traffic noise, taking into account the evening period established in Italy (20-22) and that proposed by the European Commission in order to determine differences between the two temporal scenariosI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
