Based on an exploratory study of writing practices implemented by education professionals in the course of their job, this book offers an in-depth analysis of the functions of writing as a professional practice within educational work. The book reviews similarities and differences among theories and practices of documentation and professional writing, proposing a narrative perspective as a useful interpretive framework for the comprehension and reconceptualization of the writing and documentation processes required in the work of education professionals. The results of the reported study suggest that writing is necessary at all the key stages of pedagogical work: that is to say, at the design, planning, evaluation, documentation and reporting stages. The vision of writing that ultimately emerges from this work is that of a professional practice and competence which becomes a key resource for educational work when it is conceptualized and implemented with pedagogical intent

Abstract
Based on an exploratory study of writing practices implemented by education professionals in the course of their job, this book offers an in-depth analysis of the functions of writing as a professional practice within educational work. The book reviews similarities and differences among theories and practices of documentation and professional writing, proposing a narrative perspective as a useful interpretive framework for the comprehension and reconceptualization of the writing and documentation processes required in the work of education professionals. The results of the reported study suggest that writing is necessary at all the key stages of pedagogical work: that is to say, at the design, planning, evaluation, documentation and reporting stages. The vision of writing that ultimately emerges from this work is that of a professional practice and competence which becomes a key resource for educational work when it is conceptualized and implemented with pedagogical intentI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
