High-resolution US has been established as an effective diagnostic modality for the assessment of musculoskeletal system structures' traumatic pathology, in addition to clinical evaluation. Due to its intrinsic features (such as cost-effectiveness, possibility to perform dynamic maneuvers, lack of contraindications, and noninvasiveness) US represents a valid tool for the diagnosis and follow-up of tendon trauma.

Abstract

High-resolution US has been established as an effective diagnostic modality for the assessment of musculoskeletal system structures' traumatic pathology, in addition to clinical evaluation. Due to its intrinsic features (such as cost-effectiveness, possibility to perform dynamic maneuvers, lack of contraindications, and noninvasiveness) US represents a valid tool for the diagnosis and follow-up of tendon trauma.
