Ordinamenti didattici a confronto: il caso dei percorsi di laurea in Sapienza Università di Roma

Since several decades the Italian university is represented as an over-dispersive system. Issues such as the delay in the studies, the low number of graduates and the inadequate connection with the job market occur in the political, social and academic debate of our country. The problematic areas concern, on the one hand, the effectiveness (defined as the achievement of objectives) and, on the other hand, the efficiency (interpreted as the ratio between outcomes and costs incurred). This article debates the issue of tertiary education systems’ productivity, reporting data of a survey about the Sapienza University of Rome and comparing them with those available at national and international levels (from which emerges that Italy registers one of the lower rates of young graduates in the international context, scoring values of about 20 percentage points lower than the average of the OECD countries). The research considered a secondary analysis of longitudinal data on the careers of cohorts enrolled in ten years relating to the pre-reform 509/1999 period (AA.AA. 1991-1992/2000-2001) and six years related to the post-reform (AA.AA. 2001-2002/2006-2007), proposing a new methodological instrument (multi-dimensional representations).
