This work describes the implementation of the Point Spread Function in an iterative reconstruction algorithm for PET and presents some validation results on the new algorithm. A new prior for a variational regularization is also proposed to control the noise and to allow the number of iterations to be increased. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
