In this short reply to the comments to my book, I will use three guiding notions to add some inputs to the current debate on AI: the principle of world stability, social experiment, and education. AI maximizes its predictive abilities when it can work in definite, stable situations where huge amounts of data are available, whereas human intelligence was conceived to work with instability. The step from uncertainty to the stable world is a long one and can be classified as a social experiment in need of institutional interventions focused on education of the final users of AI technologies.

Abstract

In this short reply to the comments to my book, I will use three guiding notions to add some inputs to the current debate on AI: the principle of world stability, social experiment, and education. AI maximizes its predictive abilities when it can work in definite, stable situations where huge amounts of data are available, whereas human intelligence was conceived to work with instability. The step from uncertainty to the stable world is a long one and can be classified as a social experiment in need of institutional interventions focused on education of the final users of AI technologies.
