The most extreme forms of exploitative capitalism, those that degrade human nature through various formulae of structural violence, see exacerbated and aberrant environmental exploitation as one of the many shades of decline in late-neoliberal West. However, today's environmentalism, oriented towards 'green' shifts, sustainable development of 4.0 economies, and smart cities, still conceals the great neoliberal deception. As the saying goes, in the words of Chico Mendez, environmentalism without class struggles is gardening. Reducing the discourse of environmentalism to a mere civil dispute, stripped of the class struggle narrative, weakens its effectiveness and impact for change. Climate change and environmental degradation are part of the larger colonial and capitalist discourse. Abstract
As we will see in the following lines, psychology contributes to the capitalist reinterpretation of the green discourse, reducing its analysis to the creation of new diagnostic labels such as environmental concerns and eco-anxiety.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
