Lactantius and Augustine provide information about the pagan deity Terminus, deriving it from the classical tradition of the Terminalia and the construction of Capitolium, where the god did not want to give his way to Jupiter. This immovability is embodied in the terms, as signs of land boundaries, and remains throughout in Christianity, when the raison d'être of this character disappears. Even today, our legal system accepts the legal regime of the private, albeit conventional, immovability of boundary terms.

Abstract
Lactantius and Augustine provide information about the pagan deity Terminus, deriving it from the classical tradition of the Terminalia and the construction of Capitolium, where the god did not want to give his way to Jupiter. This immovability is embodied in the terms, as signs of land boundaries, and remains throughout in Christianity, when the raison d'être of this character disappears. Even today, our legal system accepts the legal regime of the private, albeit conventional, immovability of boundary terms.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
