The following paper suggests a study methodology, developed by the hydrogeological group at the DISAT, in the University of Milano – Bicocca. Its purpose concerns a 3D detailed and quantitative reconstruction of the geological structure and of the heterogeneous distribution of textural characteristics and hydraulic parameters of a shallow aquifer, starting from punctual (stratigraphic logs) and spatial data. The heart of the methodology is the integrated use of databases and GIS; in this way, the collected data can be filed and stored in a specific hydrologic database in order to manage them for 3d-models, and they can also be viewed and analyzed in a dynamic cartography, updatable day by day.In this paper is explained the example of the shallow aquifer in the Lombardy plain, between Ticino and Oglio, where more than 4000 georeferenced stratigraphic data have been collected.

Abstract
The following paper suggests a study methodology, developed by the hydrogeological group at the DISAT, in the University of Milano – Bicocca. Its purpose concerns a 3D detailed and quantitative reconstruction of the geological structure and of the heterogeneous distribution of textural characteristics and hydraulic parameters of a shallow aquifer, starting from punctual (stratigraphic logs) and spatial data. The heart of the methodology is the integrated use of databases and GIS; in this way, the collected data can be filed and stored in a specific hydrologic database in order to manage them for 3d-models, and they can also be viewed and analyzed in a dynamic cartography, updatable day by day.In this paper is explained the example of the shallow aquifer in the Lombardy plain, between Ticino and Oglio, where more than 4000 georeferenced stratigraphic data have been collected.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
