This paper deals with some new behavioural trends linked to the spread of the Internet and analyzes them in the light of classical sociological studies of marriage and the family. The paper also presents proposals for an agenda of questions and topics to be researched in the coming years, both from a theoretical point of view and in terms of empirical research.
