Security policies concerning the residents of ‘campi nomadi’ explain the forced migrations that affect specific actions in relation to public health facilities in these same urban areas. The therapeutic paths and the dynamics of usage patterns of these public health facilities by the Roma population have been modified or indeed disrupted by the dismantling of the camps and the eviction of their inhabitants. This theme is based on the ethnographic study of a single life trajectory underlining the interactions between the spatial dimensions of individual actions and public policy.

Abstract

Security policies concerning the residents of ‘campi nomadi’ explain the forced migrations that affect specific actions in relation to public health facilities in these same urban areas. The therapeutic paths and the dynamics of usage patterns of these public health facilities by the Roma population have been modified or indeed disrupted by the dismantling of the camps and the eviction of their inhabitants. This theme is based on the ethnographic study of a single life trajectory underlining the interactions between the spatial dimensions of individual actions and public policy.
