La morale delle avvertenze. Circolazione, uso e manipolazione dei farmaci nei campi rom di Roma

Based on an ethnographic research conducted between 2009 and 2010, this article discusses the diffusion and use of medicines among the inhabitants of the Roma settlements, the “Roma settlements”, in the South and South-East of Rome, Italy. Focusing on their “creative” adaptation for abortion and drug preparation, the medicines are observed as descriptive tools for the relationship between Roma communities, sanitary institutions and the larger society.

Basato su una ricerca etnografica svolta nel 2009 e 2010, questo articolo si rivolge alla diffusione e alle forme d’utilizzo dei farmaci fra i residenti dei “campi rom” della zona sud e sudovest di Roma. Soffermandosi su casi di un loro adattamento creativo per fini abortivi e di preparazione di stupefacenti, i farmaci vengono colti nel loro essere strumenti descrittivi del rapporto fra le comunità dei campi, le istituzioni sanitarie e la società maggioritaria.
