Acceptance that metaphor is a genuine form of reasoning in the cognitive perspective introduced by Lakoff & Johnson could also provide psychologists, counsellors and clinicians with a viable medium for evaluating personality, and styles of thinking. Counseling, Clinical Evaluation and Psychotherapy all produce ¿Verbal Activity¿ that can be analyzed. Understanding our clients' metaphors, utilizing their metaphors for change, or constructing and presenting our own therapeutic metaphors is a common skill of every clinician.
