The paper discusses AI tools for medical diagnosis and their efficiency. It proposes simple trees for classification and diagnosis, which satisfy the tenets of bounded rationality, namely fast-and-frugal trees, based on simple rankings of features. The core component of the paper is a simple AI tool for constructing such transparent, simple and robust trees. A comparison with other well known procedures concludes the paper.

Abstract
