INTRODUCTION:The length of treatment can be reduced by using TADs for intrusive mechanics of the lower incisors during the leveling of Spee curve. AIM:Comparison between an intruisive mechanics using mini-screws and a conventional procedure. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 90 patients that required intrusion of lower incisors between 4 and 8 mm were examined. These patients were randomly assigned into 2 study groups treated with utility arch or treated using a continuous intrusive force delivered by a flexible chain attached to a mini-screw. RESULTS: The average rate of intrusion using mini-screws was higher than using utility arches during the 4 months of the observation period. CONCLUSION:The process of intrusion has proven faster and more reliable by using the mini-screws and it was perfectly tolerated by the patients involved in this study.
