The subject of this chapter is Kdo, its role in bacterial LPSs biosynthesis and as potential target for antibacterial design. Since the Kdo structure is the only recurrent structural element in all bacterial lipopolysaccharides, its biosynthesis outstands as promising target for the design of novel and wide range antibacterials.

Abstract

The subject of this chapter is Kdo, its role in bacterial LPSs biosynthesis and as potential target for antibacterial design. Since the Kdo structure is the only recurrent structural element in all bacterial lipopolysaccharides, its biosynthesis outstands as promising target for the design of novel and wide range antibacterials.
