In this paper, a high-precision wide-range electronic front-end for resistive gas sensors is described. A flexible continuous time trans-resistance stage is followed by a switched capacitor incremental ADC. A smart DSP allows to reconfigure the front-end in order to achieve a resolution of 0.1% for a resistance ranging in [100 Ω-10 MΩ]. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
