In the essay I collected and commented all the performing references in Seneca’s De Ira. This is an unpublished study. Eight types of performances are mentioned in the dialogue: munera gladiatoria, certamina gymnica, venationes, chariot race, histriones, damnationes, mimes and pantomimes, ludi scaenici, tuba and lituus. A brief mention about the mask is added. The citations are first considered one by one, they follow the conclusions of a research still in progress. It is desirable to collect and compare the performing references present in Seneca’s complete work to rebuild the philosopher’s theory in a systematic way
