Metal extraction from vanadyl-mesotetraphenylporphyrin (VO-TPP), dissolved in toluene, by means of trifluoroacetic acid and isoperfluorooctanoic acid, was studied as a model for acid demetallization in crude oils. E.p.r., u.v.-vis. and h.p.l.c. techniques have been used. Evidence of the formation of an adduct between VO-TPP and perfluorinated acids in toluenic solutions has been confirmed, while in pure acid solution a different behaviour has been observed. Demetallization of the porphyrin occurs in isoperfluorooctanoic acid whilst in trifluoroacetic acid oxidation of vanadium occurs after the demetallization

Abstract
Metal extraction from vanadyl-mesotetraphenylporphyrin (VO-TPP), dissolved in toluene, by means of trifluoroacetic acid and isoperfluorooctanoic acid, was studied as a model for acid demetallization in crude oils. E.p.r., u.v.-vis. and h.p.l.c. techniques have been used. Evidence of the formation of an adduct between VO-TPP and perfluorinated acids in toluenic solutions has been confirmed, while in pure acid solution a different behaviour has been observed. Demetallization of the porphyrin occurs in isoperfluorooctanoic acid whilst in trifluoroacetic acid oxidation of vanadium occurs after the demetallizationI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
