In this preliminary investigation a structured questionnaire on psychosocial and clinical relevance of Alzheimer Disease (AD) caregiving was submitted to general pratictioners (GP). A clear perception about severe limitations on general, working and relational functioning of caregivers is referred in a range between 50 and 74% by 37% of 119 GP in charge of the National Health Service of Placenza (Italy). In the meantime symptoms of depression are related to caregiving in a range between 50 and 74% of cases for 23% of GP. Important suggestions derive about the usefulness of involving GP in training courses and informations concerning evaluation, management and treatment of AD. A psychoeducational training approach for families (70% of AD patients live with relatives) is strongly suggested and seems useful to detect early cognitive symptoms of AD and to let GP know better about the evolution of the disorder.

Abstract
A psychoeducational training approach for families (70% of AD patients live with relatives) is strongly suggested and seems useful to detect early cognitive symptoms of AD and to let GP know better about the evolution of the disorder.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
