The globalisation of markets has questioned States’ traditional function of regulating and leading the economy. Such trend seems to have favoured intrgration processes at a supranational level, as the european case shows. Through the analysis of the Italian and German legal systems, the Authors outline the features of the institutional changes triggered by such processes, and the increasingly important role of the European Union as the protagonist of the economic governance.
