Vecu de maladie et problèmes thérapeutiques dans le traitement chirurgical de l'obésité réfractaire.

The problem of connections between psychopathological profile, illness experience and motivation to treatment in the massive obesity is still at its first stage of examination. In this study the authors could avail on an experience gained on 58 massive obese patients admitted in hospital for a surgical intestine by-pass and gastro-plastic operation. It was thus possible to investigate the illness experience, that is the acquired experience consequent to previous therapies generally carried out without any result. Such therapies were mostly based on medocines and diets and main object of this study was investigating the connection between the medicine and the diet and the patient's experience as revealing element for a better organization of the psychological support to be granted in addition to the surgical therapy.
