Our study sought to explore the association between fear of Covid-19 and academic stress via social support and self-esteem. The mediating role of the two variables (self-esteem and academic stress) was only partially confirmed (H4). We found a direct and positive association between fear of covid-19 and academic stress (H1), a negative association between self-esteem and academic stress (H2), a negative association between fear of covid and self-esteem. The association between social support and the other variables (fear of covid and academic stress) was not statistically significant. In other words, if self-esteem was found to be resulted as crucial in regulating the association between fear of covid and academic stress, social support did not.
