The Authors analyzed the various possible complications of plaster in order to charaterize their medico-legal features as regard to the most recent advances in orthopedics. We have initially described the plaster tecniques mentioning the different sckeletal landmarks and the vascular-nervous pathways to be considered and preserved in order to prevent ischemical and entrapment damnages. Also we have defined the funtional posture to improve the subsequent articular motility and we have considered the avarage time for each different plaster to be kept. In addiction we have analyzed the different complications due to a badly manifactured plaster, with particular regard to vascular-nervous compressions, the complications related to the immobility duration (e.c. joint rigidity) and finally the adverse effects following a wrong orthopedic therapeutic decision. According to the orthopedic knowledge and medico-legal experience we enphasized the usefulness of plaster only in occasion of specific and well reconginzable events in which a continuos follow-up of the patient's conditions is required

Abstract
According to the orthopedic knowledge and medico-legal experience we enphasized the usefulness of plaster only in occasion of specific and well reconginzable events in which a continuos follow-up of the patient's conditions is requiredI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
