The present work addresses the legal implications rising from an intense cyber-attack occurred in Australia in June 2020. To this end, the paper starts with a factual description of the case; then, the cyber event is analyzed in the light of the rules concerning the applicability of the international responsibility of States. Once observed all the difficulties rising from the conduction of this legal operation, the present work aims to propose an innovative approach in dealing with the analysis of cyber-attacks: precisely, the last pages are dedicated to address the question whether the Australian case may be read through the lens of the growing field of International Disaster Law.

Abstract
The present work addresses the legal implications rising from an intense cyber-attack occurred in Australia in June 2020. To this end, the paper starts with a factual description of the case; then, the cyber event is analyzed in the light of the rules concerning the applicability of the international responsibility of States. Once observed all the difficulties rising from the conduction of this legal operation, the present work aims to propose an innovative approach in dealing with the analysis of cyber-attacks: precisely, the last pages are dedicated to address the question whether the Australian case may be read through the lens of the growing field of International Disaster Law.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
