The consistent Latin American immigration to Italy in recent decades has made this community visible, with the subsequent creation of representations of this group by the receiving society. However, the perception of the migrant in the host country is often reduced to numerical data, stereotypes about the physical type or the occupational activity or episodes of chronic generally negative. In the present work I propose to approach the migratory phenomenon through testimonies of a young Peruvian woman representing the second generations on the lived family migratory experience. The biographical approach, by making known the life stories of the protagonists of migration, contributes to the qualitative knowledge of the migration phenomenon, indispensable before undertaking related public policies.

Abstract
The consistent Latin American immigration to Italy in recent decades has made this community visible, with the subsequent creation of representations of this group by the receiving society. However, the perception of the migrant in the host country is often reduced to numerical data, stereotypes about the physical type or the occupational activity or episodes of chronic generally negative. In the present work I propose to approach the migratory phenomenon through testimonies of a young Peruvian woman representing the second generations on the lived family migratory experience. The biographical approach, by making known the life stories of the protagonists of migration, contributes to the qualitative knowledge of the migration phenomenon, indispensable before undertaking related public policies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
